Putting on the MIND of Christ.

Putting on the MIND of Christ.

In this study on the "Putting on the MIND of Christ", the one giving the study is only a student of the WORD. The TEACHER always has to be the Holy Spirit that is found in Gods Holy word. He is speaking to you and I through the Holy Scriptures that He inspired to be written by His Holy men. I have underlined the part of the scripture that is to be carefully read.

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17). "And if Christ be in you, -- the Spirit is life because of righteousness." (Rom 8:10).

Putting on the MIND of Christ to receive His Salvation.

In this STUDY, we are going to look and see what the MIND of Christ is in His Holy Word on serving Him with all our heart, soul and MIND.

There are only two minds in the world. One is the heavenly mind of God (Elohim - Jesus Christ) Himself that created all things. The other is called the carnal mind or an earthly mind. A mind that rejects the very existence of a Creator God, or a mind that rejects the authority of a Creator God over us, who He created for His pleasure. Of all the things created, only Men and Angels have a mind that can accept or reject Him as their creator. They can accept or reject His authority to rule over the things He created. Adam, and we his offspring, being the main creation He is concerned about. He created us to be SONS of His righteousness in order to live with Him in His Kingdom for ever. To be earthly minded is death. To be heavenly minded is to walk with Him in His Spirit of Righteousness.

We will now look at the Holy Scriptures to ascertain just what the mind of Christ is that we are to put on. Also what the carnal mind is that we are to put off. Only those who have put on the mind of Christ, the heavenly mind, are living in His Heavenly Kingdom now. They are His righteous servants - slaves, who have put to death the old carnal nature that we were born with in this earthly life. They have been born again with a heavenly mind from the WORD of God, to serve Him and Him only with their heavenly MIND.

The parts of the Holy Scriptures are underlined to draw your attention to the main subject of the scripture. In the case here, it is the MIND of Christ in those who obey Him verses the carnal mind of those who reject the idea of there is a Creator God altogether. Or the mind that accepts that there is a God, but refuses to obey His Ten Commandment Covenant that reveals the WAY for a man to live without sin in order to be free from the carnal mind and alive again in the MIND of God the Father and His Christ.

The First Commandment that we have been given to free us from the carnal mind is:

(Mark 12:29-31) "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: {30} And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy MIND, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. {31} And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."

If one obeys this Command, there is no place (room) reserved for a carnal mine within an obedient Christian.

(James 4:8) "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

(Luke 10:27) "And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."

(Luke 12:26-31) "If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? {27} Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. {28} If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? {29} And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. {30} For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. {31} But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you." (James 1:7-8) "For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. {8} A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (Luke 11:23) "He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth."

It is made very plain in this set of scriptues that if you do not put on the mind of Christ and serve Him only, that you are working against Him and your self. If we dont get the things through having the Mind of Christ, we are getting them through our carnal mind. "he that gathereth not with me scattereth."

(Rom 8:3-11) "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh (carnal mind), God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: {4} That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. {5} For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. {6} For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. {7} Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. {8} So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. {9} But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. {10} And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. {11} But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Only if we put on the Mind of Christ, which is a Holy and Righteous Mind, do we have the Mind of Christ in us to bring about His promised He made to His Sons of Righteousness. When we accept Christ and we invite Him in, He comes in and makes His abode with us to lead us into all RIGHTEOUSNESS.

When He comes in, He gives His betrothed gifts of the Spirit and writes their name down in the Book of LIFE as a future bride. How ever if the betrothed does not put on His wedding garments that He gives, His White robes of Righteousness, she will be rejected at the wedding and cast out into darkness. See the parable about the Wedding.

(1 Cor 2:13-16) "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. {14} But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. {15} But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. {16} For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

Those who listen to the preaching of His word, accepts Him, and invites Him into their lives as a Savior and God (authority), are given His Spiritual mind to listen and understand the Spiritual lessen taught in His Holy Scriptures.

(1 Cor 3:1-4) "And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. {2} I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. {3} For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? {4} For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?"

The carnal mind must continue to die in order to better understand the Spiritual Mind of Christ.

(Phil 3:8-15) "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, {9} And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: {10} That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; {11} If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. {12} Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. {13} Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, {14} I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. {15} Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus MINDED: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."

We find in this scripture that Paul is stiving for an excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. Why? That I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. (Luke 11:52) "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge (by your disobedience): ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered."

(Hosea 4:6) "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

(Prov 1:7-10) "The FEAR of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. {8} My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: {9} For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. {10} My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."

(James 1:1-8) "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. {2} My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; {3} Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. {4} But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. {5} If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. {6} But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. {7} For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. {8} A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

(Psa 111:10) "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." (112:1-3) "Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. {2} His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. {3} Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever."

Only those who fear God and keep His Holy Commandments are wise and have a good understanding of the will and MIND of Christ. If you dont delighteth greatly in doing his commandments, you do not have the Mind of Christ. "Not my will, but thy will be done".

(Rom 1:28-32) "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate MIND, to do those things which are not convenient; {29} Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, {30} Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, {31} Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: {32} Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

(Rom 7:23-25) "But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24} O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? {25} I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

If one does not put on the Mind of Christ and live in the Fathers Spirit from above, their is no way a carnal person can over come the carnal nature within. The only WAY to over our carnal nature within is to accept the Holy Spirit of Christ into our lives from reading and hearing the Words of Christ. If we truly LOVE Him we keep all His sayings. "The Love of Christ overcomes a multitude of sins."

(Rom 8:1-6) "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. {2} For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. {3} For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4} That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. {5} For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. {6} For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

(Rom 11:34-36) "For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? {35} Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? {36} For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen."

To reject the Mind of Christ as our only instructor in this life as to how we as His people are to live our Life in Him, is a fatal decision on our behalf. All His judgment against the disobedient will take place according to His words. (Mat 24:35) "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." "The unrighteous shall not inherit the earth". We know what kind of life style they live from the scriptures above. If one believes in evolution (no god) instead of Gods 7 day creation and do not obey Him, you belong to a church social club.

(Rom 12:1-6) "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. {2} And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. {3} For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. {4} For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: {5} So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. {6} Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;"

To present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God is only a reasonable service. Its a small price to pay for everlasting life in His Kingdom. If we dont, we will never be transformed by the renewing of our minds from earthly to Spiritual Mind. We must prove from His words what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God and than do it.

(2 Cor 4:3-9) "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: {4} In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. {5} For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. {6} For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. {7} But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. {8} We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; {9} Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;"

(2 Cor 11:3-6) "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. {4} For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. {5} For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. {6} But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things."

(Eph 4:17-25) "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, {18} Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: {19} Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. {20} But ye have not so learned Christ; {21} If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22} That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; {23} And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; {24} And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. {25} Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another."

(Phil 2:4-13) "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. {5} Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: {6} Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: {7} But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: {8} And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. {9} Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: {10} That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; {11} And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. {12} Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. {13} For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

(Col 3:12-17) "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; {13} Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. {14} And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. {15} And {transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God16} Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. {17} And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

(2 Tim 1:7-11) "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. {8} Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; {9} Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, {10} But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: {11} Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles."

(Titus 1:13-16) "This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; {14} Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. {15} Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16} They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate."

Sunday keeping is a commandment of the Popes of Rome. Constanstine was a Sun worshipper. He gave his Roman church a commandment in the year 327 AD. for all to acknowledge the day named after the Sun as their New Day of worship. In order to make Sunday more palatable for the early Christian to keep that had been keeping the 7th day Holy, they changed the pagan Solar week in 106 AD. making Sunday the first day of their week. the original solar week started with Moons - day, Suns - day and on out to Saturn's - day. (Mat 15:6) "Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition."

(Titus 2:1-3) "But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: {2} That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. {3} The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;"

(Heb 8:10-13) "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their MIND, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: {11} And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. {12} For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. {13} In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

Who are the ones who know the God of Israel? The ones who have His Holy LAWS into their MIND, and write them in their HEARTS: How did Christ write them there? Be a doer of the words of Christ and not a hearer only.

(James 1:25-27) "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. {26} If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. {27} Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

(Eph 5:27) "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

(1 Pet 4:1-7) "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same MIND: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; {2} That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. {3} For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: {4} Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: {5} Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. {6} For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. {7} But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer."

(2 Pet 3:2-5) "That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: {3} Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, {4} And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. {5} For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:"
